Senior Total Loss Specialist

Location: Fully remote

Salary: $32.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Manage company-retained and owner-retained total loss claims from valuation through settlement and salvage resolution.
• Determine vehicle valuations, explain settlement calculations, review coverage, and answer claim-related questions.
• Negotiate settlements with insureds and third-party claimants while communicating with lienholders, salvage vendors, and other involved parties.
• Handle salvage disposition and move vehicles to storage-free locations or salvage vendors to reduce storage costs.
• Prepare, review, and submit DMV forms and company documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Support complex claims, special projects, and departmental initiatives while meeting company, carrier, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• At least five years of total loss experience, including handling claims from valuation through settlement.
• Experience managing both company-retained and owner-retained salvage.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, decision-making, organizational, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based systems; typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to pass a background check.

• Broader automobile claims or insurance industry experience.
• Knowledge of insurance practices, terminology, and coverage concepts.
• Experience assisting with complex total loss claims.
• Bilingual communication skills.
