Junior Forward Deployed AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Belgrade or Budapest, hybrid; applicants must be residents of Belgrade or Budapest. The role is described as remote but includes on-site working sessions.

Develops an AI-powered digital assistant and revenue management platform that turns complex business data into actionable insights, recommendations, and pricing and growth opportunities.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain back-end and front-end services, APIs, and database structures.
• Collaborate with the technical team to understand requirements and support project delivery.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code, and participate in code reviews.
• Test, troubleshoot, and debug applications to improve code quality and performance.
• Contribute to AI-powered features using LLMs, AI APIs, RAG, agents, and automation workflows.
• Write technical documentation and learn relevant technologies, including front-end development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or current studies in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Some back-end development background and willingness to learn front-end development and become a full-stack developer.
• Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language; C#, Java, or C++ is preferred.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL, plus familiarity with cloud technologies.
• Creative problem-solving, adaptability, initiative, and ability to work productively in a remote setting.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini into web applications.
• Basic knowledge of prompt engineering and AI workflow design.
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, RAG, vector databases, model evaluation, hallucination handling, and AI security guardrails.
• React knowledge.
