Chief of Staff (Biotechnology)

Base compensation: $270,000–$295,000 annually

What you will do

• Partner with the President as a strategic thought partner and support high-stakes internal, external, and Board engagements.
• Design and run long-range planning, annual strategic planning, and Annual Operating Plan processes.
• Translate enterprise strategy into goals, priorities, resource plans, and coordinated execution across functions.
• Own the business performance framework, leadership operating rhythm, governance forums, and decision follow-through.
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives, resolving dependencies and establishing lasting ownership and operating mechanisms.
• Connect US and corporate priorities across hirify.global and Italfarmaco, supporting alignment in a global/local matrix.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree in business, life sciences, or a related field is preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, management consulting, strategy, business operations, or program and portfolio leadership.
• Experience operating with senior executives and at the executive and Board level.
• Experience designing and running planning and governance processes in a scaling organization.
• Exceptional executive communication and writing skills, including the ability to independently produce Board-ready materials.
• Strong analytical, strategic, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a passion for rare disease innovation and patient impact.

Nice to have

• Experience operating within a global matrix or with a non-US parent company or global function.
• Commercial-stage pharmaceutical experience, including product launch.
• Prior Chief of Staff, business operations, portfolio management, or management consulting experience.
