Sr. Applied Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote, based in Lima, Peru

What you will do

• Build and evaluate machine learning approaches for company and entity matching.
• Develop embedding- and LLM-based matching, scoring, ranking, and similarity approaches.
• Work with messy, multilingual data including names, aliases, domains, websites, firmographic attributes, and data hierarchies.
• Define benchmark datasets, baselines, metrics, test sets, and error-analysis processes.
• Design experiments, analyze model behavior and edge cases, and compare LLM-assisted methods with lower-cost alternatives.
• Communicate findings, trade-offs, and recommendations to engineering and business stakeholders while documenting successful and unsuccessful experiments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Data Science or Machine Learning experience.
• Strong applied Machine Learning fundamentals and experimental design skills.
• Excellent Python and SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with embeddings, semantic similarity, LLMs, supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, and NLP.
• Working knowledge of neural networks, transformer architectures, and TensorFlow, PyTorch, PyCaret, or equivalent frameworks.
• Strong English communication skills and availability to work remotely from Lima, Peru.

Nice to have

• Experience with entity resolution, record linkage, deduplication, ranking, similarity scoring, retrieval, clustering, or candidate-generation techniques.
• Experience designing LLM and embedding solutions for cost and scale constraints.
• Experience with Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
• Experience working with company, domain, website, firmographic, or multilingual datasets.
