Electrical Engineer (Controls)

Location: Pulaski, NY, US; relocation assistance available.

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead electrical and controls design for commercial boilers and engineered thermal systems.
• Serve as the electrical subject matter expert for engineered customer orders, including drawing approvals, component specifications, pricing input, and availability support.
• Develop and improve electrical design standards, procedures, documentation, and component libraries.
• Ensure designs comply with UL, NFPA, NEC, and CSA requirements.
• Resolve production issues and root causes with manufacturing, quality, and field service teams.
• Support factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and evaluation of new technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of electrical engineering or controls design experience, preferably with an equipment manufacturer or OEM.
• Experience designing industrial control panels, power distribution systems, or controls for engineered equipment.
• Working knowledge of UL 508A, NEC, NFPA, and/or CSA standards.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical design principles.
• Ability to review and approve electrical drawings, specify components, and make timely technical decisions.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, with clear communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with burner management, combustion controls, boilers, NFPA 85/86, switchgear, generator controls, or engineered-to-order electrical equipment.
• Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Professional Engineer license.
