Quality Excellence Expert (Switchgear)

Location: São Paulo or Jundiaí, Brazil; on-site factory support and 50%–70% travel across switchgear factories in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil are required.

What you will do

• Deploy Total Quality Management methodology across switchgear manufacturing factories in the Americas.
• Identify and mitigate quality risks across electrical systems, circuit breakers, bus systems, insulation and gas systems, wiring, mechanical assemblies, testing, and final inspection.
• Establish Design and Process FMEA, control plans, 8D, root-cause analysis, and effective shopfloor controls.
• Lead cross-functional troubleshooting, containment, corrective actions, and systemic improvements for complex product and process failures.
• Analyze production, testing, nonconformance, rework, warranty, and field-service data to improve First Pass Yield and reduce Non-Conformance Cost.
• Develop preventive improvement plans and digital quality dashboards while coaching teams and standardizing best practices across sites.

Requirements

• Experience engineering or manufacturing Switchgear products, including AIS or GIS and live-tank or dead-tank circuit breakers.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of medium- and high-voltage equipment, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, bus systems, control wiring, protection interfaces, insulation and gas systems, mechanical assemblies, interlocks, and production testing.
• Ability to interpret and challenge engineering drawings, bills of material, specifications, manufacturing instructions, test procedures, and electrical-equipment standards.
• Strong knowledge of critical-to-quality characteristics, inspection and test controls, traceability, workmanship standards, and nonconformance management.
• Professional proficiency in English, on-site factory support, and 50%–70% travel are required.
