Senior Staff Engineer (Wind and Solar Energy): Leading bankable resource and energy yield assessments for utility-scale wind and solar photovoltaic projects with an accent on resource analysis, production modeling, uncertainty assessment, and technical reporting. Focus on optimizing wind and PV layouts, validating meteorological and satellite datasets, reviewing complex engineering analyses, and advising clients during project development, financing, and due diligence.

What you will do
- Lead bankable wind and solar resource and energy yield assessments for utility-scale projects.
- Analyze meteorological, LiDAR, SoDAR, ground-based, satellite, and remote-sensing datasets.
- Develop long-term resource estimates, energy production forecasts, uncertainty assessments, loss analyses, and exceedance probabilities.
- Perform wind flow, wake, micrositing, wind farm layout, PV system modeling, solar resource, and loss analyses using industry-standard tools and PVsyst.
- Support technical due diligence, independent engineering, financing, transaction advisory, and project development assignments.
- Review technical work, mentor engineers, present findings to clients, and represent in industry engagements.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant renewable energy engineering experience, including substantial wind and solar resource and energy yield assessment work.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, atmospheric sciences, physics, or a related field.
- Experience independently delivering or leading bankable utility-scale wind and solar assessments.
- Proficiency with OpenWind, Windographer, WAsP, WindPRO, or equivalent wind assessment software, plus advanced PVsyst proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of resource correction, uncertainty analysis, exceedance probabilities, PV performance modeling, wind flow, wake analysis, micrositing, and solar PV layout design.
- Fluent English is required; Portuguese proficiency is strongly preferred for client and stakeholder engagement in Brazil.
