Field Survey Technical Manager (Land Surveying)

Location: Santa Ana, California, United States (Remote); field survey operations throughout California.

Salary: $125,556–$174,656 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for field survey operations throughout California.
• Mentor, coach, supervise, and develop Chiefs of Parties and other field leadership personnel.
• Establish surveying standards, procedures, quality controls, training programs, and consistent field-to-office workflows.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, resource planning, equipment deployment, and workforce forecasting.
• Evaluate and implement surveying technologies, equipment, software, and field workflows.
• Support project planning, risk and safety planning, quality investigations, proposals, recruitment, and project delivery.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in land surveying and field survey operations.
• California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, credentials, and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of topographic mapping, control, and construction staking.
• Experience with survey equipment and technologies including GNSS, robotic total stations, digital levels, terrestrial scanning, mobile LiDAR, and UAV systems.
• Working knowledge of Trimble Business Center, Star*Net, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam, plus strong leadership and communication skills.
