Frontend Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Munich or Berlin, Germany

Develops AI-supported anti-money laundering and fraud detection technology for banks and payment providers.

What you will do

• Build end-to-end product features in React and TypeScript, including workflow graph editors, investigation timelines, data-heavy tables, and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain Module Federation remotes for the Investigation Agent and the Material UI-based Case Manager.
• Contribute to the shared shadcn/ui, Tailwind, and Storybook component library.
• Consume Python/FastAPI backends through OpenAPI-generated clients with TanStack Query and Router.
• Build, test, and deploy frontend features in a pnpm and Turborepo monorepo using GitHub Actions, Vitest, Playwright, and AWS.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, backend engineering, and Data Science while using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience building and maintaining production React applications with strong TypeScript and modern React skills.
• Experience with feature-oriented frontend architecture, reusable components, hooks, typed API layers, complex state, forms, and performance optimization.
• Experience with component libraries and design systems; familiarity with shadcn/ui, Radix, Tailwind, or Material UI.
• Knowledge of Module Federation or similar runtime composition, shared dependencies, host/remote contracts, Vite, monorepos, and GitHub Actions.
• Clear communication in English is required. Ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Basic Python and FastAPI knowledge, plus exposure to Terraform or AWS CDK, Auth0/OIDC, and visual regression or accessibility testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with UX for AI products or previous work in fintech, RegTech, or compliance.
• Familiarity with Material UI, infrastructure as code, Storybook-driven development, visual regression testing, or accessibility testing.
