Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote from Virginia, United States; US citizenship and the ability to obtain Public Trust Suitability required

Salary: $118,000–$177,000 per year

What you will do

• Define, implement, and grow the SRE practice for critical production environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain resilient, highly available, and performant infrastructure and applications.
• Define and measure Service Level Objectives and Service Level Indicators.
• Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using the Elastic Stack and related tools.
• Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, infrastructure engineers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate reliability and observability into the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust Suitability.
• 6+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience designing and maintaining observability solutions covering logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Hands-on experience with Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or similar SRE tools.
• Experience defining and measuring SLOs and SLIs, using cloud platforms, and programming or scripting with Python or Bash.
• Knowledge of microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, cross-functional collaboration, and synthetic monitoring with TypeScript.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or four additional years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Agile or SAFe environments and ALM tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, configuration management, infrastructure as code, Linux administration, networking, security, disaster recovery, backups, and data replication.
• Experience supporting large federal programs.
