Program Engineer 3 (Refueling & Remote Handling)

Location: United States; remote work is available only within the contiguous United States for employees living beyond 30 miles of a NuScale office. Otherwise, work is performed in-office four days per week. Occasional national and local travel may be required.

Target pay range: $115,710–$139,650 annually. Full pay range: $102,000–$163,000 annually.

What you will do

• Coordinate resource planning, execution plans, work scopes, staffing forecasts, schedules, and project deliverables for internal and commercial projects.
• Assess department capacity, identify project risks and constraints, and recommend actions to maintain execution.
• Design, review, and oversee digital I&C systems for refueling and remote-handling applications, including diagrams, requirements, calculations, reports, hazard analyses, and ITAAC.
• Translate functional requirements into component- and system-level designs while addressing interfaces, manufacturability, testing, installation, and inspection.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines, suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Support regulatory audits, requests for additional information, meetings, procurement inputs, performance reporting, and technical methodology development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university; a power-engineering focus is preferred.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in commercial nuclear power design or systems engineering, or equivalent technical and project-planning experience.
• Experience with resource planning, project coordination, technical planning, and the design, testing, and installation of digital I&C systems for nuclear refueling and remote-handling applications.
• Ability to incorporate NRC regulations and guidance into nuclear plant system requirements and design parameters.
• Familiarity with applicable IEEE standards is preferred; experience with Primavera P6 is highly desired.
• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 and be available to work within the contiguous United States.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer registration or an advanced degree.
• Experience with IEEE Standards 497, 603, 308, 379, 384, 323, 344, and 1050.
