Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Diesel Engine Controls)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year

What you will do

• Analyze software requirements and develop embedded software features for diesel engine electronic control systems.
• Integrate MATLAB/Simulink algorithms, software components, libraries, auto-generated code, calibration data, and configuration datasets.
• Configure embedded development toolchains, build flash files, and support software deployment to production ECUs.
• Develop test plans, validation procedures, verification strategies, and software-in-the-loop test scripts.
• Execute unit, integration, system, regression, MIL, SIL, and HIL testing on configured test benches.
• Investigate software defects, perform root-cause analysis, and troubleshoot embedded applications and system integration issues.

Requirements

• Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science program.
• Experience with embedded systems, real-time software development, controls integration, and software lifecycle processes.
• Ability to perform requirements analysis, develop software products, and address significant technical challenges.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with systems and controls engineers.
• Ability to work onsite in Mossville, Illinois, five days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience with dSPACE, Git, Trace32 Debugger, CANalyzer, Cat Electronic Technician, MATLAB, C, Python, and CAN/SAE J1939.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and developing software for diesel engines or machines.
