Engineer II - Integrated Vehicle Systems SW/AU (Automotive Embedded Software)

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. The role includes occasional domestic and international travel, support outside normal business hours when needed, and relocation assistance if applicable.

What you will do

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and validate embedded software for ADAS, automated driving, connected vehicles, and other automotive electronic systems.
• Develop, decompose, manage, trace, and verify system and software requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Perform software integration, troubleshooting, debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Support automotive communication networks, vehicle electronic architectures, and electronic control unit integration.
• Execute verification and validation using simulation, bench, and vehicle testing environments.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, validation organizations, and cross-functional stakeholders through vehicle integration, launch, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience developing embedded software, vehicle systems, automotive electronics, or related engineering solutions.
• 3+ years of experience with ADAS, automated driving, connected vehicle technologies, vehicle electronics, or related automotive applications.
• Experience with C, C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, requirements management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or Jama, and automotive networks including CAN, CAN FD, or Ethernet.
• Experience with model-based development, software integration, debugging, verification, validation, and automotive standards such as ASPICE, MISRA, or ISO 26262.
• Must have the right to work in the United States without requiring hirify.global visa or employment authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive AUTOSAR.
• Experience with SIL, HIL, automated testing, CI/CD, automated build systems, cloud-connected vehicle services, over-the-air updates, mobility solutions, or automotive cybersecurity.
• Experience supporting vehicle-level integration, validation, testing, and launch activities.
• Advanced degree in a related engineering discipline.
