Hiring range: Manager: £71,200–£93,700; Senior Manager: £86,000–£113,200 per year

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day Genomics Hub operations, workflows, and standard operating procedures for genomics assays.
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on wet-lab support for RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, single-cell genomics, and related workflows.
• Manage sequencing data, including demultiplexing, run-quality assessment, and handoff for downstream analysis.
• Oversee laboratory equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and utilization.
• Consult with researchers on experimental design, sample preparation, data collection, and technology development.
• Manage budgets, resources, team members, training, and cross-functional operational initiatives.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise with NGS workflows, including library preparation, single-cell genomics, spatial omics, and related instrumentation.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, or a related field.
• Experience developing standardized processes, improving operations, and translating scientific expertise into robust workflows.
• Experience training scientific teams and managing technical personnel in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic research environment.
• Manager level: 5–7 years of progressive hands-on genomics laboratory experience and 3+ years of direct supervisory experience.
• Senior Manager level: approximately 8–10 years of progressive genomics experience with a record of people leadership and cross-functional initiatives.
