What you will do

• Conduct research and analysis on public policy issues and programmes for public and third sector clients.
• Review, analyse and summarise academic and policy literature.
• Conduct face-to-face, telephone and video interviews, write up interviews and focus groups, and perform qualitative analysis using a range of tools and software.
• Analyse quantitative data using a range of tools and software.
• Generate findings, prepare descriptive and analytical texts, and create data visualisations.
• Provide research and administrative support to other team members.

Requirements

• Relevant graduate or postgraduate qualification in social policy or research methods, such as social sciences, economics or health economics, applied statistics, geography, political science, service design, psychology, sociology, public policy research or public administration.
• At least 3 years of employment experience using a variety of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods in research projects for a consultant role.
• Strong interest in UK policy, improving public services and using evidence in policy-making.
• Excellent oral and written English.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Intermediate or advanced computer-user skills related to research and data analysis.
• Ability to write skilfully and accurately summarise and synthesise information and evidence from a wide range of sources.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team spread across the UK.
• Research and business ethics, flexibility, attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrable commitment to building an inclusive team that values diversity.

Nice to have

• Skills in editing or proofreading other people’s written work.
• Experience undertaking evaluations of projects or programmes.
• Knowledge of the work of UK government departments.
• Background or interest in sport and active leisure, youth inclusion or employment.
