R&D Engineer - Backend Development Node.js

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for research-driven products in natural language processing and collaboration.
• Build reusable REST APIs and microservices integrated with LinTO products and associated APIs.
• Develop usage-based subscription billing, identity management, and API access-control features.
• Deploy and operate containerized services in SaaS environments using Linux infrastructure, Docker, and Docker Swarm.
• Document APIs and services, promote development best practices, and propose technology improvements.
• Contribute to open-source projects and technology transfer from research activities into products.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience developing and deploying Node.js applications in SaaS and microservices environments.
• Experience with Linux tools, Bash, containers, networking, Git, Docker, and Docker Swarm.
• Knowledge of Express or Fastify, MongoDB, REST APIs, streaming, WebSockets, and OpenAPI specifications.
• Experience with application scalability, billing and payment systems, identity management, access control, DevOps, monitoring, and CI/CD.
• Good proficiency in French and English is required for documentation and open-source repositories.
• Proven experience as a Node.js software developer in an industrial environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with audio streaming, signal processing, or SRT and RTP protocols.
• Knowledge of Traefik, Jenkins, Celery Task Broker, or Redis.
