AI Harness Engineer

Location: 100% remote, worldwide; company location listed as Brussels, Belgium.

What you will do

• Deliver new features and bug fixes with a focus on reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.
• Design and develop tools and modules that enable new AI capabilities across models of different types and sizes.
• Build and maintain AI agent harnesses, including tool calling, agent loops, context management, and structured outputs.
• Implement peer-to-peer technology for local AI assistants and help scale QVAC.
• Maintain code quality through coding standards, code reviews, automated testing, and evaluation infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production software.
• Deep experience with peer-to-peer systems, AI/LLM tooling, or both.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, including modelling complex state in synchronization protocols and agent loops.
• Experience building evaluations and test infrastructure for non-deterministic systems.
• Open-source contributions to peer-to-peer, networking, or AI tooling projects.
• Experience designing for network partitions, model errors, timeouts, retries, and other failure scenarios.
