AI & Control Senior Engineer – Manipulation (Robotics)

Location: Paris, France; occasional remote work authorized. Travel to customer factories is required when validating use cases and troubleshooting issues.

What you will do

• Conduct literature reviews and present research advances and internally developed algorithms.
• Develop manipulation algorithms and train policies using approaches including model-based control, imitation learning, and diffusion models.
• Test algorithms on real robots and in simulation, improve simulator realism, and compare simulation environments.
• Study industrial use cases, propose technical solutions, and contribute hardware requirements for manipulation.
• Develop automated tests, improve code quality, and design verification pipelines to prevent regressions.
• Demonstrate tasks, collect learning data, and travel to customer factories to validate use cases and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in robotics or machine learning, including robotic manipulation.
• Engineering degree or equivalent Master’s degree required; a relevant PhD is highly valued.
• Expert-level Python, machine learning, and robotics and control systems; autonomous-level C++.
• Experience with imitation learning, diffusion models, linear algebra, numerical optimization, computer vision, kinematics, and physical modeling.
• Experience with modular software design, test-driven development, continuous integration, automated testing, dataset management, and collaborative development.
• Ability to conduct experimental work, build prototypes, explain algorithms clearly, and adapt solutions to real-world commercial products.

Nice to have

• Academic or research experience in robotics, optimal control, imitation learning, or diffusion models.
• Personal or professional robotics projects and experience working with scientific literature and research communities.
