What you will do

• Develop and improve safety mechanisms for Large Language Models that interact with external resources and take actions.
• Design and conduct data collection tasks, including working with human annotators.
• Evaluate scientific experiments related to data quality, biases, and model performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including ML researchers, product, and policy teams.
• Implement software solutions to test and validate safety approaches.
• Contribute to advancing ethical and responsible AI through research and engineering.

Requirements

• Location: Must have ~50% working day overlap with UK/EU timezone.
• Strong statistical and experimental design skills.
• Experience with training large language models on distributed infrastructures.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Published research in top-tier ML or AI conferences or journals.
