Backend Engineer (IoT)

Location: Remote within Europe; Oslo, Norway

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for Mender Server.
• Scale SaaS infrastructure to support millions of connected devices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable backend solutions.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Write tests, debug issues, and maintain robust, secure code.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency in a backend programming language; Go and Python are preferred.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, message brokers, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of automated testing, deployment pipelines, security best practices, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required.
