Senior Database Administrator (MSSQL)

Location: Warsaw, Poland; hybrid with 2 days in the office and 3 remote days

Salary: 22,000–29,000 PLN + VAT on a B2B contract

What you will do

• Own database reliability across production systems, including performance, availability, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.
• Partner with engineering squads on schema and query design and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Lead performance tuning and troubleshooting for database-heavy systems.
• Own database migrations and upgrades, including the transition from MSSQL to PostgreSQL where appropriate.
• Review schema changes and queries to protect reliability and data integrity.

Requirements

• Deep, production-grade MSSQL administration and performance-tuning experience.
• Expertise in indexing strategy, backup and disaster recovery, security, and troubleshooting under real load.
• Ability to own database health from design through production and drive mitigation when issues occur.
• Ability to work effectively in constrained, on-premises bank environments.
• Natural use of AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.

Nice to have

• PostgreSQL and ClickHouse experience.
• Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, ETL, or fintech.
