Senior / Staff Electrical Engineer (Automotive)

Location: On-site in Pittsburgh, PA or San Francisco, CA, with 3–4 days onsite expected.

What you will do

• Design PCBAs for high-speed, power, analog, and digital circuits, translating OEM requirements into board-level decisions.
• Develop modules from requirements through customer delivery, including COTS-versus-custom hardware tradeoffs and SPICE-based verification.
• Lead board bring-up, component-level debugging, soldering, vehicle end-of-line diagnostics, and technician activities.
• Build module end-of-line test fixtures and load boxes, and test designs under nominal, stressed, and environmental conditions.
• Manage contract manufacturer builds, scale hardware from prototypes to high-volume production, and track manufacturing risks.
• Develop quality controls, support EMI/EMC qualification, document design and test data, and improve engineering processes.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of hardware development experience and 2–3+ years in a formal leadership role.
• Analog circuit design from first principles, including filtering, protection, and voltage/current sensing.
• Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad; schematic and board-layout review; and hands-on circuit debugging.
• Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, LIN, USB, JTAG/SWD, automotive standards, firmware testing, scripting, and embedded Linux.
• Experience partnering with contract manufacturers and switching between laboratory work and roadmap planning.

• Automotive, robotics, or autonomous-vehicle experience.
