Information Security Engineer III (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid role in Somerville, Massachusetts, with onsite work required based on weekly or monthly business needs. Monday–Friday schedule during Eastern business hours.

Salary: $93,953.60–$136,739.20 annually

What you will do

• Evaluate technologies, business initiatives, operational processes, and proposed solutions to identify cybersecurity risks.
• Perform security assessments, architecture reviews, risk analyses, and technology evaluations.
• Develop practical, risk-based recommendations, security controls, standards, reports, and assessments.
• Research emerging technologies, evolving threats, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, business stakeholders, vendors, project leaders, and security professionals to integrate security into decision-making.
• Present findings, facilitate discussions, advise stakeholders, improve security methodologies, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in systems engineering, security engineering, security architecture, cybersecurity consulting, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, security frameworks, enterprise technologies, cloud platforms, identity and access management, networking, applications, infrastructure, and security operations.
• Understanding of Zero Trust, least privilege, defense-in-depth, data protection, secure software development, threat modeling, and vulnerability management.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite as required, use Mass General Brigham-provided equipment for Teams video, and maintain a stable, secure, compliant workstation on remote workdays.
