Customer Engineer - Shift Manager (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Customer site in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland; onsite shift-based work, including nights; 10% travel. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: €48,000–€66,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day engineering shift operations, handovers, safety, quality, and operational performance.
• Supervise, coach, schedule, and develop field service engineers, including onboarding and training compliance.
• Drive customer and internal contract KPIs, including response time, machine availability, spares consumption, utilization, and tool escalation.
• Monitor equipment performance and support high-value problem troubleshooting.
• Lead safety briefings, audits, incident corrective actions, and compliance with quality systems and site procedures.
• Identify improvement opportunities, support root-cause analysis, and lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Experience in a high-tech manufacturing engineering environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience as a team lead, supervisor, or equivalent.
• Strong communication, coaching, conflict-resolution, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to analyze data, understand KPIs, balance priorities, and make decisions under pressure.
• Engineering or manufacturing qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of spares processes and procedures and good knowledge of SAP.

Nice to have

• Experience with model-based problem-solving.
• Experience with automated tools, equipment, and cleanroom operations.
• Familiarity with shift-based operations, including night shifts.
