Senior / Principal System IC Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Finland, Estonia or the EU. Hybrid work is available through offices in Tampere, Helsinki, Turku and Oulu, with a remote team in Estonia. Working from elsewhere in the EU is possible through a consultancy arrangement where suitable.

What you will do

• Translate customer and product requirements into IC-level system requirements, architectures and detailed specifications.
• Partition functionality across analog, RF, digital, software and external components.
• Define interfaces, performance budgets, design constraints and block-level specifications.
• Create behavioral and system-level models using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Python or SystemVerilog.
• Evaluate performance, power, area, cost, risk and implementation feasibility while coordinating with design, verification, layout, test and project management teams.
• Support verification planning, IC integration, tape-out, laboratory characterization and resolution of system-level issues.

Requirements

• B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, electronics, communications engineering or a related field.
• Strong professional experience in IC, ASIC, SoC or mixed-signal system design.
• Experience translating product requirements into architectures and detailed technical specifications.
• Broad understanding of analog, RF, digital, verification and physical implementation considerations.
• Experience with system modeling using Matlab, Simulink, Python, SystemVerilog or equivalent tools.
• Strong English communication skills and experience working with customers on complex technical topics.

Nice to have

• Experience in wireless communications, radio architectures, signal processing, power management, automotive electronics, semiconductor IP development or post-silicon validation.
• At Principal level, experience leading architectural work, providing technical direction and developing reusable system design methods.
