Senior Data Scientist (Algorithm Development)

Location: Remote within the continental United States; occasional travel may be required. Preference for candidates in the EST time zone, especially FL, GA, MD, NC, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VA, or WV.

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Analyze large-scale Geo-Signals Cloud data and produce complex models, insights, and analytics for data products.
• Develop efficient Snowflake data models and optimize SQL queries for analytical and production use cases.
• Build and optimize algorithms that identify patterns, extract information, and solve complex problems in noisy datasets.
• Collect, clean, transform, and structure data for analytics, machine learning, and product development.
• Identify and communicate data quality issues while supporting improvements to data products.
• Work with the development team to drive projects from problem definition through implementation and delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in complex data analysis, data science, or a related quantitative field.
• Expert SQL skills, including extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake SQL and large production datasets.
• Strong proficiency in Python and relevant libraries, with experience supporting analytics and machine learning.
• Experience with data collection, cleaning, transformation, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and big data technologies such as Spark.
• Must reside in the continental United States; fluent English and strong communication skills are required.

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Experience working with geospatial data.
• Exposure to Java, Scala, Kotlin, or other programming languages.
• Preference for simple approaches over unnecessary complexity.
