Supplier Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Wimborne, United Kingdom; onsite in the Wimborne office five days a week. The role involves 10–20% travel, mainly within the UK and occasionally in the EU.

Salary: £57,700+ per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Assess supplier quality through incoming-supply tests, inspections, evaluations, and audits.
• Monitor supplier defect rates, identify potential quality issues, and guide suppliers in reducing defects.
• Research and evaluate potential vendors, including their manufacturing environments, practices, and procedures.
• Support suppliers with process improvements, process controls, and quality assurance plans.
• Coordinate supplier development projects and act as a technical point of contact for supplier relationships.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions, documentation, testing, validation, and approvals.
• Extensive experience in manufacturing standards, procedures, policies, and compliance monitoring.
• Extensive experience managing manufacturing suppliers, supplier performance, quality standards, and controls.
• Experience evaluating, selecting, certifying, and developing suppliers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including leading resolution efforts and developing solutions to critical or wide-impact problems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, reports, and constructive feedback.
