Project Controls & Business Systems Intern

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; work takes place in office and active construction site environments, with potential visits to outdoor industrial sites.

Salary: $20–$25 per hour

What you will do

• Support implementation, testing, deployment, and improvement of business software solutions.
• Assist with project controls, including data analysis, reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Validate and reconcile workforce, payroll, labor distribution, and project data.
• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Excel, Power BI, and reporting databases.
• Participate in user acceptance testing, document issues and enhancements, and validate data flows between enterprise applications.
• Gather business requirements, map processes, document workflows, and provide project updates to cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in business, construction management, project management, information systems, computer science, engineering, finance, data analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with operations, finance, payroll, IT, and project management stakeholders.
• Ability to work in office and active construction site environments and comply with safety and PPE requirements.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, lift up to 25 lbs, and work around weather, noise, dust, chemicals, and other industrial conditions as needed.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, VBA, or database concepts.
• Interest in business systems, project controls, process improvement, data analytics, or software implementation.
