General Accountant (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid role based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; residence within commuting distance of the Mississauga office is required.

Salary: CAD 72,000–80,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Reconcile and manage balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, prepaid assets, accrued payables, and bank and cash accounts.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close activities accurately and on schedule.
• Analyze income statement and balance sheet trends against historical data and budgets, resolving issues and documenting explanations.
• Maintain accurate general ledger inputs, system reports, coding, and required controls.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable and FP&A to resolve general ledger coding discrepancies.
• Improve day-to-day and month-end accounting processes while maintaining documentation and controls.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Solid accounting knowledge and the ability to apply general concepts to unique situations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
• Ability to work from the Mississauga office in a hybrid arrangement and reside within commuting distance.

Nice to have

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Enrollment in or progress toward a CPA designation.
• Experience with NetSuite.
• Experience with Copilot and Claude Cowork.
