Accounting Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Canada, with candidates based in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo

Annual base salary: $98,300–$133,100 CAD, with a midpoint of $115,700.

What you will do

• Own technical accounting guidance for revenue recognition, leases, stock compensation, business combinations, and capitalized software.
• Lead controls mapping by connecting risks to controls, documenting processes, and identifying gaps.
• Use knowledge of month-end and year-end close processes to improve controls and redesign accounting workflows.
• Collaborate across Finance and other departments on cross-functional accounting projects and Finance-owned tools.
• Redesign accounting processes using company-approved AI and automation tools while applying professional judgement and human review.

Requirements

• CPA designation and strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Significant accounting experience, including public practice, technical accounting research, and process and controls documentation.
• Strong analytical, judgement, project management, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to scope ambiguous work, sequence priorities, and deliver projects independently.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a growing organization.
• SEC reporting experience is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in a SaaS company.
• IPO, S-1/F-1, or public company experience.
• Experience using NetSuite.
