Maintenance Manager (Pulp and Paper)

Location: Lucca, Italy; on-site maintenance operations at a customer paper mill.

Salary: €52,000–€70,000 gross annual salary, classified between B2 and B3 depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Support the General Maintenance Manager in establishing safe maintenance and site operations under country, hirify.global, and customer HSE policies.
• Help develop long-term maintenance plans, prepare budgets, and control costs.
• Create and implement action plans with customer managers and related teams to meet or improve operational targets.
• Coordinate daily, shutdown, outage, emergency, and critical maintenance activities, providing instructions and guidance to the team.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, preventive maintenance scheduling, work-order closure, and cost control.
• Handle personnel matters and improve team skills and efficiency through coaching and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant maintenance operations experience in the pulp, paper, or tissue industries.
• Knowledge of mechanical and automation systems.
• Experience with problem-solving techniques, planning and scheduling, office systems, and IT tools.
• Skills in finance, networking, communication, team training, and development.
• Fluent English required; knowledge of Italian is considered an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience in change management.
• Knowledge of Italian.
