Industrial Engineering Intern (Thesis Project) (Manufacturing Automation)

What you will do

• Support industrial engineering activities related to testing procedures for filler equipment.
• Define standard work, checklists, and Gantt charts for equipment testing.
• Develop testing and validation tools aligned with equipment and automation evolution.
• Support automation projects involving Siemens and B&R PLC programming, EPLAN electrical design, and Digital Twin technologies.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods to analyze variability and support cycle-time, quality, and cost improvements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Innovation, Engineering, Customer Project Management, Production, and external automation partners.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Basic programming knowledge in Python, VB, C++, Java, or SQLite.
• Familiarity with TIA Portal, B&R Automation Studio, and EPLAN P8.
• Good command of Italian and English, written and spoken.
• Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PLC automation, and electrical schematics, with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Power BI.
• Knowledge of French.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence applications in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of robotics or collaborative robotics.
