TL;DR
Strategic Buyer (Strategic Sourcing/Procurement): Leading end-to-end sourcing and procurement projects across indirect spend categories with an accent on supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, cost optimisation, and risk management. Focus on managing high-value tenders, analysing spend and market data, building stakeholder and supplier relationships, and coaching procurement colleagues on complex sourcing activities.
Location: Leeds, United Kingdom; hybrid with 3 days per week on-site

What you will do
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement projects across varied indirect goods and services categories.
- Manage end-to-end tender processes, including supplier identification, RFx development, evaluation, negotiation, and implementation.
- Own high-value procurement activity, typically above $100k, and strategically important projects.
- Deliver cost optimisation while balancing quality, service, risk, and business requirements.
- Build supplier and stakeholder relationships, analyse spend and market data, and identify sourcing opportunities.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, support governance and compliance, manage the sourcing pipeline, and coach procurement colleagues.
Requirements
- Proven procurement experience, ideally in indirect sourcing, strategic buying, or commercial procurement.
- Experience leading RFx activities, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management.
- Strong commercial, analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, evolving matrix environment.
- CIPS qualified, part-qualified, or willing to work towards a professional procurement qualification.
Nice to have
- Experience across a range of indirect spend categories.
- Experience in a global or multinational business environment.
- Knowledge of procurement, sourcing, and contract management systems.
- Experience in procurement transformation, supplier consolidation, process improvement, or mentoring less experienced colleagues.
