Process Engineer (Warehouse Automation)

Location: Vienna HQ, Austria; hybrid, with the option to work from home up to 2 days per week and regular on-site time at fulfillment centers

Salary: from €5,000 gross per month, paid in 14 salaries per year

What you will do

• Identify automation and process redesign opportunities across fulfillment operations, data and warehouse floors.
• Build business cases covering throughput, labor impact, payback periods and capital and operating expenses.
• Own solutions end to end across physical automation, software, control changes or combined systems.
• Lead design, testing, installation, integration and pilot implementation with internal teams, vendors and contractors.
• Coordinate procurement activities, vendor evaluation, negotiations, handover, documentation, SOPs, support processes and operational training.
• Standardise successful projects into reusable templates, playbooks and best practices for the group automation roadmap.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, a technical or analytical field, or equivalent vocational training and relevant hands-on experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in warehouse automation and process improvement, including end-to-end project ownership.
• Strong analytical skills covering spreadsheet business modelling and floor-level process evaluation.
• Project management experience aligning Operations, Engineering, Finance and external vendors.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with third-party vendors and contractors.
• Professional working proficiency in English and willingness to spend regular time on-site at fulfillment centers.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with control logic, orchestration software or WMS integration.
• Working knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
