Internship - Combustion & Flame Initiation Development (m/f/d)

Location: Austria, Engineering Department in Jenbach

Base pay: at least EUR 2,755.26 gross per month, paid 14 times per year

What you will do

• Support the development of internal combustion engines through simulation and testing.
• Contribute to gas engine projects focused on power, efficiency, fuel flexibility, emissions, transient behavior, cost reduction, and operating strategies.
• Perform 1D simulation activities related to combustion and gas exchange.
• Support single- and multi-cylinder engine testing, including mixture preparation, gas exchange, ignition, and combustion investigations.
• Assist with spark plug development, part inspections, materials analysis, and interpretation of test and field data.
• Conduct literature research and cooperate with controls, design, mechanical engineering, exhaust gas aftertreatment, and test bench functions.

Requirements

• Student of Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines.
• High motivation and ability to work independently.
• Basic ability to work in a global matrix organization.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Full-time availability for at least six months, starting at the beginning of 2027.
