TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer (Marine Robotics) (HAUVs/subsea systems): Building and scaling repeatable production processes for hovering autonomous underwater vehicles, from pressure-hull subassemblies and subsea electrical interconnects to fully integrated vehicles, with an accent on build quality, sealing, pressure integrity, and production documentation. Focus on designing fixtures and quality checkpoints, solving leaks and mechanical failures, and transferring low-volume prototype builds into reliable production across Singapore and Johor Bahru.

Location: Ang Mo Kio, Singapore, with support for alignment between Singapore and Johor Bahru sites and travel as needed.

Company

hirify.global develops hovering autonomous underwater vehicles and autonomous robotics solutions for underwater infrastructure in the maritime, energy, and defense sectors.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end HAUV assembly and integration, including pressure hulls, thruster modules, electronics enclosures, PCB stacks, and vehicle-level systems.
  • Develop work instructions, assembly sequences, build travellers, quality checkpoints, inspection criteria, and production documentation.
  • Define and enforce standards for wiring harness fabrication, crimping, soldering, subsea connector termination, sealing, pressure testing, and leak testing.
  • Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve build consistency and reduce assembly time.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for leaks, ingress, corrosion, mechanical failures, production issues, and field returns.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, suppliers, fabrication partners, and teams at the Singapore and Johor Bahru sites.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly engineering, preferably with robotics, marine, aerospace, defense, or electromechanical products.
  • Hands-on experience with wiring harnesses, crimping, soldering, and connector termination.
  • Understanding of sealing design, pressure housings, waterproofing methods, mechanical drawings, GD&T, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience writing work instructions and establishing quality processes for low-to-medium-volume production.
  • Comfort working hands-on in a fast-moving startup environment, including building, testing, and troubleshooting directly.

Nice to have

  • Experience with subsea, ROV, AUV, or other marine robotics systems.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing and CNC-machined part sourcing.
  • CAD proficiency with tools such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360 for fixture and tooling design.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, FMEA, or ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Willingness to support occasional sea trials or field deployments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Growth opportunities based on direct contribution rather than a fixed corporate ladder.
  • Exposure to deep technology from design through commercialisation.
  • ESOP or equity participation.
  • Healthcare support and skills-upgrading or learning credits.
  • Access to industry events and a stocked pantry.
