Senior/Mechanical Engineer (R&D)

Develops inspection tools, metrology systems, process solutions, and computational analytics for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.

What you will do

• Design precision mechanical components, subsystems, and systems for semiconductor metrology equipment.
• Translate technical requirements into subsystem specifications and complete designs from concept through detailed drawings.
• Conduct feasibility studies, first-principles estimations, structural, thermal, vibration, modal, and fluid simulations.
• Plan and execute fit/form testing, verification, validation, risk analysis, and cleanroom assembly activities.
• Manage supplier requirements, incoming component inspections, customized solutions, manufacturing process transfer, and qualification.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, manufacturing, and service engineers while supporting troubleshooting during product ramp-up.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, fabrication methods, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and error budgeting.
• Experience with machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and other mechanical manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling using CAD, preferably ProE/Creo.
• Basic knowledge of simulation tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or ANSYS, including structural, vibration, thermal, and fluid simulation.
• Doctorate with 0 years of related experience, a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate technical information, collaborate across engineering functions, and solve complex problems.
