Research Analyst Intern (AI)

Location: San Francisco or New York City preferred; candidates elsewhere in North American time zones may be considered. In-office work preferred, with hybrid work considered.

Independent research and analysis firm covering the semiconductor supply chain and AI industries through research, industry models, consulting, and technical due diligence.

What you will do

• Support a defined research project under the guidance of an analyst.
• Collect and verify company, pricing, capacity, customer contract, financing, deployment, funding, and spending data.
• Maintain source records and distinguish reported facts from estimates.
• Build or update focused spreadsheet models covering GPU cloud economics, AI tokenomics, or related topics.
• Draft a concise research note and explain the calculations end to end.

Requirements

• Comfort with spreadsheets, basic accounting, percentages, and financial statements.
• Ability to explain calculations and verify units.
• Clear writing and careful source management.
• Demonstrated interest in AI, technology markets, or business economics through coursework, projects, independent research, or previous internships.
• Willingness to learn unfamiliar concepts, ask questions, and revise work based on feedback.
• Employment eligibility in the United States is verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Coursework or projects in finance, economics, accounting, consulting, or a comparable analytical field.
• A company model, investment memo, or independently researched article demonstrating analytical ability.
• Python and SQL experience.
