Senior Programmable Voice Engineer (CX Platform)

What you will do

• Design and develop programmable voice services, APIs, call-control capabilities, and communication infrastructure for enterprise-scale CX platforms.
• Build and extend voice systems using FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, SIP, RTP, WebRTC, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Implement call routing, session management, media handling, carrier integrations, and real-time voice traffic processing.
• Design highly available and scalable systems, troubleshoot signaling and media issues, and improve call quality across distributed environments.
• Integrate voice services with contact-center, routing, CRM, identity, reporting, and digital-engagement platforms.
• Review architecture and code, define engineering standards and non-functional requirements, and collaborate with clients, product, architecture, QA, DevOps, security, operations, and vendors.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with substantial ownership of architecture and technical delivery for distributed applications.
• Deep hands-on expertise with FreeSWITCH and/or Kamailio, including call control, dial plans, media services, ESL, modules, and platform customization.
• Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, WebRTC, session control, media handling, telephony troubleshooting, and real-time communications.
• Expert hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, persistence, security, testing, and performance engineering.
• Experience with API-first design, event-driven architecture, messaging, distributed systems, cloud-native engineering, and PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
• Excellent communication skills, technical documentation experience, and the ability to lead client-facing workshops.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenSIPS, Asterisk, Twilio, SignalWire, or comparable communications platforms.
• Experience building routing engines, IVR platforms, voice bots, or omnichannel engagement services.
• Experience with Genesys, NICE, Five9, Amazon Connect, Cisco, Avaya, or comparable contact-center platforms.
• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Jenkins, observability platforms, API gateways, and security architecture.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions, including Claude or GitHub Copilot.
