Simulation Software Engineer (C++/Python)

Salary: $209,000–$310,000 estimated base salary, plus equity

What you will do

• Develop and maintain production-quality simulation components in modern C++ and Python.
• Integrate driving-stack components, simulated robot systems, and new vehicle platforms into a shared simulation environment.
• Support and test open-loop and closed-loop simulation workflows, initially focusing on high-scale open-loop evaluation.
• Investigate differences between on-road and simulated execution across interfaces, data flows, timing, configuration, and failure modes.
• Improve testing, observability, reproducibility, reliability, debuggability, developer tooling, and simulator performance.
• Collaborate with Simulation, Robotics, Autonomy, Evaluation, Platform, and Data teams.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing, delivering, and maintaining production software in a collaborative engineering environment.
• Strong software development skills in C++ and Python, with depth in at least one language and effective working ability in the other.
• Experience integrating and debugging components in complex software systems across interfaces, data flows, timing, and failure modes.
• Experience with simulation in robotics or autonomous vehicles, or transferable experience in another complex systems domain.
• Experience integrating ML components such as PyTorch models, CUDA, or QNN.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, maintainability, code review, observability, profiling, and performance measurement.

Nice to have

• Experience with middleware, sensor data, distributed-system debugging, batch processing, cloud infrastructure, or GPU workloads.
• Exposure to world models, NeRF, Gaussian splatting, or learned graphics.
