Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: SF Bay Area, United States; on-site

Salary: $150K–$350K annually, with the base salary depending on experience, skills, permanent work location, and team position.

What you will do

• Architect and scale high-performance, real-time API and data systems.
• Design and implement low-latency pipelines for large-scale event streams.
• Build mechanisms that ensure data integrity, availability, consistency, and service reliability.
• Mentor engineers on infrastructure architecture, best practices, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with AI researchers, product leaders, and engineers to anticipate infrastructure needs and deliver resilient, extensible systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on infrastructure or large-scale data and machine learning systems.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, stream processing, and scalable backend architecture.
• Experience designing and operating low-latency, high-throughput, fault-tolerant systems.
• Strong foundation in systems design, performance tuning, and reliable service development.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-ownership, fast-growth environment.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with PyTorch model development.
