Forward Deployed Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: New York, United States; work arrangement: on-site

Salary: $185,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity. The range represents total wages and may vary by hiring location, experience, skills, scope, and role level.

What you will do

• Act as the technical point of contact for a set of sophisticated customers and their engineering teams.
• Understand customer goals, determine required data and delivery, and own the end-to-end implementation and shipment.
• Maintain a high customer support and SLA standard through fast responses, clear communication, and delivery follow-through.
• Identify slow, fragile, or manual parts of the delivery process and improve tooling, standards, and workflows.
• Coordinate with engineering, data, and operations teams to unblock delivery and escalate upstream product or process changes.
• Bring customer-driven insights into product and delivery systems based on real-world operating conditions.

Requirements

• Technical depth sufficient to earn credibility with a sophisticated customer engineering team.
• Hands-on experience owning a customer or partner relationship end to end.
• High agency and a strong generalist mindset across data, delivery processes, and adjacent problem areas.
• Ability to take ownership beyond a narrowly defined scope and deliver independently.

Nice to have

• Startup experience, ideally as a founding or early engineer.
• A track record of improving how a team delivers, in addition to individual delivery work.
