R&D Engineer (f/m/d) Coating Design (Optics)

What you will do

• Evaluate customer requests for advanced optical coatings and complex optical components from a technical perspective.
• Develop, analyze, and simulate complex optical components for advanced optical systems and modules.
• Design and optimize optical components for performance and functionality.
• Develop and improve manufacturing methods for grinding, lapping, polishing, cleaning, coating, fine cementing, and optical bonding.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optics, Photonics, Physics, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience with complex optical components.
• Experience with optical glass processing, cleaning, coating, fine cementing, and optical bonding.
• Knowledge of optical component design, ideally using Zemax or similar tools.
• Experience with optical metrology and specifying optical performance requirements.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English are required.
