Platform Security Engineer Co-Op Intern (AI)

What you will do

• Build and improve security controls in CI/CD pipelines, including static analysis, secrets scanning, dependency checks, and automated policy enforcement.
• Develop developer-facing security tooling, reusable workflows, automation, linting rules, and guardrails.
• Secure Kubernetes and containerized workloads through access controls, image security, workload configuration, and deployment policies.
• Establish security baselines for Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code, including IAM, networking, encryption, and secure defaults.
• Assess AWS, GCP, or Azure infrastructure, automate detection and remediation, and improve security visibility.
• Participate in threat modeling, code reviews, architecture discussions, documentation, and practical remediation of security findings.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate junior or senior studying Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and programming experience in Python, Go, Java, C++, Bash, or a similar language.
• Exposure to or strong interest in application, platform, cloud, or infrastructure security.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Interest in CI/CD, containers, cloud infrastructure, deployment workflows, trust boundaries, and secure engineering practices.
• Curiosity, proactive ownership, and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Nice to have

• Coursework, projects, or internship experience involving cloud security, Kubernetes, or Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Familiarity with OPA, Conftest, Kyverno, Trivy, Semgrep, or similar security tools.
• Experience with secrets management, IAM, authentication and authorization systems, or developer automation.
• Interest in software supply chain security, including dependency security, image signing, SBOMs, or secure build pipelines.
