Staff AI Operations Lead (AI)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $225,000–$265,000 USD annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Partner with business leaders across RevOps, Customer Success, Sales, Product, and other functions to identify and automate high-impact workflows.
• Define success metrics, instrument workflows, and report on cycle time, quality, cost, risk, and adoption.
• Deliver production AI systems with evaluation harnesses, human-in-the-loop review, monitoring, and ongoing iteration.
• Establish reusable patterns for model access, orchestration, agents, prompt and tool management, evaluation, logging, and cost control.
• Create templates, playbooks, safety checklists, documentation, demos, office hours, and enablement materials for different audiences.
• Partner with Security, IT, Legal, Data, and Engineering on access control, data handling, vendor risk, policies, and audit trails for AI workflows.

Requirements

• Deep experience shipping production systems into real business workflows used daily by non-technical people.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, retrieval, tool use, agents, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Ability to understand operational workflows and improve them through practical AI applications.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives without formal authority.
• Experience navigating security, privacy, compliance, data classification, retention, access controls, and vendor risk.
• Strong communication, documentation, teaching, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• SQL fluency and experience with dbt, cloud warehouses, or BI tools.
• Experience with workflow automation, case management, ticketing, CRM, or knowledge-base systems.
• Experience with AI observability, monitoring, quality signals, evaluation pipelines, cost, and latency analysis.
• Change management experience in a distributed, multifunctional company.
• Interest in external writing, speaking, podcasts, or peer communities.
