Lead AI Architect

Location: Remote; deployment may be virtual or on-site at customer organizations across the US.

hirify.global is conducting the initial and technical interviews for Very Big Things, which is building an internal workflow automation platform as a core customer offering.

What you will do

• Design and build the core architecture of an enterprise workflow automation platform.
• Make independent decisions about the technology stack, architecture patterns, and implementation.
• Create robust APIs, integrations, and workflow engines for diverse enterprise requirements.
• Deploy virtually or on-site into customer organizations, conduct workflow discovery, and build tailored solutions.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities into automation workflows and act as the technical face of the company during customer engagements.
• Guide architectural direction, challenge decisions constructively, and iterate quickly with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building production software across frontend and backend systems.
• 2+ years of experience building real products with generative AI.
• Expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern stacks such as Next.js, React, Node, Nest, or Express.
• Experience with Postgres or SQL, caches, vector stores, cloud platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.
• Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization, RBAC or ABAC, auditing, data residency, secrets management, and PII handling.
• Strong client-facing communication, technical leadership, autonomy, and experience guiding senior engineers.

Nice to have

• Domain experience in retail, hospitality, logistics, or healthcare and life sciences.
• Experience setting expectations and leading teams through technical challenges.
