Principal Scientist – Operations Research & Simulation

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of simulation and emulation platforms for automated fulfillment environments, including automation systems, human workflows, and software orchestration layers.
• Architect optimization algorithms using linear programming, dynamic programming, heuristics, stochastic models, constraint-based planning, temporal planning, and commercial solvers such as Gurobi and CPLEX.
• Solve NP-hard problems involving scheduling, resource allocation, and orchestration.
• Analyze large-scale performance data and recommend improvements in throughput, accuracy, and system stability.
• Design and validate digital twins for predictive analysis, scenario planning, and what-if analysis.
• Collaborate with software engineering, robotics, and operations teams to integrate models and optimization algorithms into production systems.

Requirements

• 9–14 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
• Strong background in operations research, optimization theory, and simulation modeling.
• Programming experience with Python, R, SQL, and C++.
• Experience with Gurobi or comparable commercial optimization solvers.
• Knowledge of automated warehouse operations, robotics orchestration, and human-machine interaction.
• Experience developing simulation frameworks, analytics solutions, data pipelines, or optimization engines.
