Associate Manager, IT - Governance, Risk & Compliance (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, Chicago, IL, United States

New hire base salary: $89,800–$112,200 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Manage and monitor the central GRC and security mailbox as the first line of response for employee inquiries.
• Administer security policy exceptions from initial request through approval, extension, or remediation.
• Review exception requests, assess business justifications against security risks, and maintain the security exceptions register.
• Review vendor security documentation, including SOC 2 Type 2 reports, ISO 27001 certificates, penetration test summaries, and security questionnaires.
• Identify and communicate third-party risks, track vendor remediation, and collaborate with procurement and legal on security and data protection contract clauses.
• Initiate, conduct, and manage cybersecurity control maturity assessments and the security metrics program.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant information security experience.
• Familiarity with foundational security frameworks and regulations, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain security concepts to non-technical employees.
• Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
• Ability to build relationships with business stakeholders and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Chicago, United States.
