Embedded Team Lead (Drones)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers while contributing hands-on to embedded C development.
• Own embedded delivery from architecture and board bring-up through serial production and field deployment.
• Design and implement firmware, low-level drivers, and hardware/software integrations for airborne platforms and payloads.
• Ensure reliability, deterministic real-time behavior, and efficient resource utilization in fielded systems.
• Conduct code and design reviews and maintain development, testing, and documentation standards.
• Plan sprints, prioritize tasks, align technical roadmaps, and support recruitment and professional development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on real-time embedded software and firmware development experience with strong C expertise.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers in a technical team environment.
• Strong embedded system design and architecture experience, including real-time behavior, interrupts, memory management, concurrency, and low-level debugging.
• Hands-on experience with ARM microcontrollers, including STM32 or similar platforms, firmware implementation, and hardware bring-up.
• Experience with I2C, UART, SPI, GPIO, and CAN, as well as schematic reading, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and hardware debuggers.
• Strong Linux experience, Git-based workflows, modern development tools, and end-to-end technical ownership.

Nice to have

• Experience with bootloaders and secure firmware update mechanisms.
• Experience with sensor integration.
• Experience supporting NPI, serial production, fielded hardware systems, or production test infrastructure.
• Experience scaling teams or leading multidisciplinary projects.
