Systems Engineer - VoIP Applications (SIP)

Location: Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid or fully remote work is available, with preference for candidates within driving distance of Philadelphia or planned expansion locations.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Red Hat, CentOS, and other Linux servers across on-premise data centers.
• Manage SIP billing, switching, termination, and origination infrastructure.
• Scale and improve resiliency for SIP trunking services across multiple data centers.
• Operate web servers, SSL certificates, load balancers, and high-availability applications.
• Troubleshoot service-impacting hardware, software, routing, and network issues while communicating with affected parties.
• Develop deployment and monitoring tools, perform system maintenance, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with SIP-based networks, platforms, and related technologies.
• Extensive Linux experience, particularly with RHEL/CentOS and Debian.
• Strong understanding of switching, routing, TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
• Intermediate experience collecting and analyzing packet captures with Wireshark.
• Basic knowledge of MySQL, MSSQL, and/or PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB.
• Shell scripting experience plus at least one of PHP, Perl, Python, or Ruby; familiarity with Cacti, Nagios, SNMP, Apache, and Nginx.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco IOS, Junos OS, T.38 FoIP, Spacewalk/Satellite/RHN, Cobbler/Kickstarts, Puppet, Chef, or cfengine.
• Knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi, storage arrays, Fibre Channel, iSCSI SAN, GFS, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux HA Cluster.
• Experience with HylaFAX, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, or other open telephony toolkits.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology.
